where it all started…

after ditching the daily ‘big smoke’ commute, saying adios to the 9-5, discovering my inner boss girl & uttering the words to a very supportive boyfriend “I’m thinking of starting a floristry course”… here I am, the owner and founder of Rooted in Rosemary, my very own own floral studio & continuing to follow my dream of owning my own business.

My Story

With an art background, I always feel most energised when I’m able to express myself creatively. After leaving my previous role as a wig maker, I took a short course at the London Flower School, which was quite possibly one of the best & most inspiring things I’ve ever done. It showed me that there’s no creative limit when it comes to working with flowers and the only barrier is my own imagination. To me, it was clear that floristry could offer the chance to work with like-minded individuals who have big ideas and can challenge me creatively. I was hooked.

After completing the course I jumped into the big wide world of floristry and began freelancing for local wedding & event floral designers (who I owe a great deal to). This allowed me to pick up a wealth of knowledge which has helped give me the confidence to take the plunge & start my very own business (argh!).

Welcome to Rooted in Rosemary.

What’s in a name?

It was always important for me to have a name that wasn’t too ‘flowery’ and in my opinion R’in’R has just the right ‘floral note’ without being too frilly. However, there is a more important meaning behind the name. Rosemary symbolises remembrance and is a dedication to my mum. My mum is the person who first inspired me creatively, who challenged and pushed me, offered endless support and raised me on her own. My mum sadly passed away in 2017 after 3 years of fighting Breast Cancer but everything she instilled in me is represented in this business of mine.

And away from flowers...

H-E-L-L-O PINTEREST! To go with my love of interiors, Pinterest feeds my addiction to fashion, textiles, art & photography (especially food photography) and along With my borderline infatuation with colour & texture, you won’t be surprised to hear they all have a great influence on my florals.

Away from floristry, I love nothing more than sitting down to a Netflix binge-marathon, large G&T and some good food. What more could you ask for?!

I think that’s probably enough about me for now. If you think we could work together then let’s have a chat. You can contact me via the form below or any of my social media channels.
